Duane Josephson

BY Taylor HEREID Duane Josephson played for the WhiteSox/RedSox as an amateur free agent in 1964. He was Born on June 3 1942 in new Hampton Iowa. He weighed 190 pounds and he was 6’0”. His Final game was July 2 ,1972. he Died January 30, 1997 in New Hampton Iowa at the age of 54.He bats right and throws left handed
He appeared at 128 games,the most of any year before or after.
He has hit six home runs and drove in 45 runs.He was reported in the news paper because he is a nice guy.

His sister Doris said,goes way way back”in New Hampton.Carl was and automobile mechanic and Lucille was a waitress,but they saved and were able to buy a restaurant in town,called The Westside Inn.
Duane has received a full time scholarship at a state collage at Cedar Falls.He wanted to play basketball,football,baseball.The average score in basketball was about 20 points per game.He was a catcher.His 1972 season but forced him to retire from the game.He also got picked for an all star catcher

He and his wife had six kids.His wife was Nancy,also hailed from New Hampton.
He has had his carer for about 20 years.
He has gone up to a double A,playing for the Indianapolis Indians.When he was with Indiana he hit 77 RBI’s,and was chosen the most valuable player in the coast league.
